Urals entrepreneurs imported more than 550 tons of New Year’s goods worth more than a million dollars

Since the beginning of the year, the Urals Electronic Customs Office has processed the import of more than 550 tons of New Year’s toys, carnival costumes and fireworks.
Customs officers have recorded a sharp increase in the supply of Christmas toys, Christmas trees and garlands – the number of shipments has increased 4 times compared to last year. In 2023, 21 tons of Christmas tree decorations worth 33 thousand dollars were imported to the Urals.
The supply of fireworks has also increased: if last year imported 44 tons for 76 thousand dollars, this year the total weight of all shipments of fireworks was almost 200 tons, the cost – almost 350 thousand dollars.
And imported carnival costumes became a little less. If in 2022 imported 400 tons for almost a million dollars, this year – 350 tons for 850 thousand dollars.
«The peak of deliveries of such «seasonal goods» falls on spring and summer: as a rule, it is the period from May to July. And in winter, customs officers formalize the import of so-called summer goods – swimming pools and gardening equipment. This is a peculiarity of logistics – New Year goods moved to the shelves, freeing up space in warehouses for summer goods» – said the Head of the Urals Electronic Customs Sergey Epifanov.
