Sakhalin customs officers find over 60 kg of automotive repair goods in the luggage of a passenger from Harbin

More than 60 kg of car repair goods were discovered by Sakhalin customs officers in the luggage of a passenger from Harbin. The passenger’s luggage did not pass customs control at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport. Instead of personal belongings, the citizen was carrying a batch of spare parts and consumables for body repair. These goods were discovered by the inspector during X-ray control. The Chinese citizen admitted that he brought the entire assortment for a third party and was unaware of the need to declare commercial goods and pay customs duties. The boxes contained spare parts and consumables for body repair, cameras, and daytime lighting lamps with a total weight of almost 62 kg. Sakhalin customs initiated a case of administrative offense under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to declare). The goods were confiscated and placed in a storage room for material evidence.
