Chinese people are buying up Urals chocolate
Since the beginning of the year, regional producers have exported 4 thousand tons of chocolates worth 8 million 330 thousand US dollars. Compared to last year, the growth in value terms amounted to almost 79%, and in physical terms to 10.5%. To date, the Urals chocolate is supplied to 18 countries.
The Urals customs officers note that on the threshold of the New Year holidays the export of confectionery products is increasing significantly. Only for the last two months the enterprises of the region sent more than 2 thousand tons of chocolate, candies and finished products containing cocoa: pastes, caramels, chocolate-coated marshmallows. The total value of sweets – 4.6 million US dollars. Compared to the same period last year, the weight volume of exported products increased by 754%, and the value – by 514%. Ural bars and other sweets are most loved in China.
«Urals entrepreneurs have increased the supply of chocolate candies to China. Since the beginning of the year the export to China in physical terms has increased 114 times (up to 2.3 thousand tons) and in value terms – 180 times (up to 4.7 million US dollars). In October-November, 1,865 tons of chocolate worth more than USD 3.7 million were shipped to the Celestial Empire. China remains the most attractive sales market for the Urals business», – emphasized Head of the Urals Customs Department Alexey Frolov.
