The Birobidzhan customs: over 1.2 million rubles of fines will pay for the timber exporters for violations of export timber

47 administrative cases of attempts of illegal export of timber brought the Birobidzhan customs for 6 months in 2020. Compared to the same period last year, the number of such offences increased by more than 2.5 times.

As told Deputy head of the Birobidzhan customs Taras Kuzmenko, in 2020 an increase in the number of offences related to illegal export of timber – 47 cases against 18 during the same period last year. Most administrative cases initiated by customs in cases of not declaring exported timber, as well as statements in the Declaration of goods unreliable information, as a rule, lowering the volume of exported timber. The proportion of such cases was 93.6%. Were also detected offences related to non-return of foreign exchange earnings for exported timber not returned to Russia more than 4.2 million rubles.

All timber exporters tried to export in the first half of 2020, bypassing the customs legislation more than 1.1 thousand cubic meters sawlog value of 711 thousand. Following the results of consideration of administrative cases the total amount of administrative fines amounted to more than 1.2 million rubles.
