In the Rostov region at the request of investigation arrested the former staff of the Novorossiysk customs

The investigating bodies of the Moscow interregional investigative management on transport of Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation according to the materials of Department of counteraction of corruption of the Novorossiysk customs and UFSB Russia across Krasnodar territory criminal case against the former head of Department of special customs procedures of Novorossiysk Western customs post of the Novorossiysk customs office and the chief state customs inspector. They are accused of committing crimes under paragraph “C” of part 3 of article 286 of the RF criminal code (exceeding official powers inflicting grave consequences).

The investigation established that in the period from March to July 2019 on the territory of the Russian Federation received tobacco products for subsequent export to Libya.

Former chief state customs inspector, acting in concert with his direct supervisor, in violation of customs requirements confirmed the actual departure of goods “cigarettes”, not applying the compulsory measures in the form of a full inspection of the goods, with the result that instead of the declared goods were shipped and later departed from the customs territory of the EAEU particular product. Tobacco products came into circulation in the territory of the Russian Federation, causing its budget economic damage in the form of unpaid excise duty and VAT worth more than 899 million rubles.

Investigation at the request of the accused the measure of restraint in form of detention.
