The Astrakhan customs officers detained a shipment of the drug containing narcotic substance

 In the result of carrying out quickly-search actions by employees of Department on struggle against contraband of drugs of the Astrakhan customs detected and suppressed the fact of importation into the territory of the EAEU of the drug “bupropion”, containing in its composition narcotic drugs, according to the “List of goods in respect of which the authorization procedure set the import into the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union and (or) export from the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union”.

When receiving international mail from India was revealed the inhabitant of Volgograd in the postal division of OSP UFPS of the Volgograd region branch of FSUE “Mail of Russia” located in Volgograd. The parcel was tablets with inscription “Hydrocgloride Bupropion Extended Release Tablets USP” in the amount of 300 pieces. According to the judgment, the withdrawn tablets are pharmaceutically derived drugs “ephedrine” (methcathinone) with a total weight of 90 grams.

In accordance with the “List of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors subject to control in the Russian Federation” “ephedrone” (methcathinone) assigned to the list No. 1 of drugs, and the importation of this drug into the territory of the Russian Federation is prohibited. In respect of drugs have special rules of their moving through customs border of the customs Union, which was not observed when movement of international mail from the Republic of India to the territory of the Customs Union.

In accordance with the Decree of the RF Government dated 01.10.2012 № 1002 “On approval of significant, large and especially large size of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for the purposes of articles 228, 228.1 and 229.1 of the criminal code, the seized drug weight 90 gr. is a large size.

The actions of the recipient of the parcel there are signs of a crime under part 3 of the article 229.1 of the criminal code (smuggling of narcotic drugs). On the specified fact in relation to a given citizen criminal case, the responsibility for which provides imprisonment for the term from 10 to 20 years. The materials of the criminal case were sent to the Volgograd Linear Department of the MIA of Russia on transport.
