Deputy head of the Main Directorate of customs control after release of goods FCS of Russia visited Smolensk customs

On the basis of the Smolensk customs, chaired by the Deputy chief of customs control after release of goods FCS of Russia Rustam Yakubov held a meeting, and its main theme were the issues of organization of interagency cooperation in order to strengthen control on the Russian-Belarusian state border of the Russian Federation in the framework of implementation of the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 6 August 2014 No. 560 “On applying certain special economic measures to ensure security of the Russian Federation”, the information exchange between the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for Bryansk and Smolensk region and the Smolensk customs in the conduct of verification activities, aimed at detection and suppression of smuggling of goods into the territory of the Russian Federation, including with use of hardware-software complex “REEF”.

The meeting was attended by the assistant of the Deputy head of the FCS of Russia Vassily Leonidov, representatives of territorial divisions of FSB, the interior Ministry, Rosselkhoznadzor, Border control, Rospotrebnadzor, the Federal Agency for transport supervision, the chief of the Smolensk customs Vladislav Lightweight, and the heads of customs units.

Rustam Yakubov drew attention to the problems of interagency cooperation, but noted active part in the suppression of smuggling embargoed goods along with Smolensk customs territorial units of the Supervisory bodies, thanked them for their work.

Following the meeting, in order to enhance the effectiveness of the fight against illegal schemes of import of sanctioned goods and quality control for roaming in the region of activity of customs on goods and means of transport gave a number of instructions, proposals for consideration at a higher level.

It should be noted that in 2019 Smolensk customs has been tested more than 16 million vehicles identified about 8 thousand tons of goods transported with violations of the rules of importation, of which more than 3 thousand – “sanctions”, filed more than 300 cases of administrative offences and five criminal cases.
