Officers of Bryansk customs detected more than 15 tons of pears transported with concealment without shipping documents in a truck from  the Republic of Belarus to Stavropol Krai.

The mobile group of Bryansk customs at the control point “Krasny Kamen” stopped a car transporting potatoes according to documents. When customs officers inspected the car, they found that boxes of pears were hidden under sacks of potatoes.

“The fruit was transported in unsuitable sanitary conditions, covered with potato sacks,” explained Tatiana Makarova, head of the customs control service after the release of goods at Bryansk customs. – Documents for the pears were missing, the safety and quality of such products raises doubts

The cargo has been detained. The issue of initiating proceedings under Article 16.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions on the import of goods) is being resolved. The carrier faces a fine of 50 to 300 thousand rubles.
