Sakhalin the company has underpaid in the budget more than 8 million rubles for the repair of a vessel abroad

Sakhalin customs has opened a criminal case against the company to evade the payment of customs duties for the repair of a vessel abroad is 8.6 million. The fact was revealed by the Sakhalin customs in interaction with UFSB Russia across the Sakhalin region, and with the assistance of the Border management of FSB of Russia across the Sakhalin region.

As a result of verification, the customs has established that in 2016 the ship one of the Sakhalin companies were temporarily taken out from Yuzhno-Kurilsk in Busan (Korea) to tow another vessel. But the company’s plans have changed, temporarily removed from the ship at the port of arrival, it stood for repair. The cost of the repair exceeded 600 thousand U.S. dollars, however, a specified amount in connection with the bankruptcy, the company gave as a debt together with the rights to possession of the vessel to another firm.

The latter carried out the reverse importation of the vessel only in 2018, after conducting another dock repair in Busan. While in the filed in the Sakhalin customs Declaration was not the stated cost of the first repair, as well as the purchase of additional equipment to equip the vessel for a further 43.5 thousand USD for the second repair.

The total amount of unpaid customs duties amounted to 8.6 million roubles that is especially large size. Sakhalin customs has opened a criminal case against Director of the company under paragraph “g” of part 2 of article 194 of the criminal code. The maximum punishment under this article till 5 years of imprisonment.

Currently the ship is arrested. The investigation is being conducted.
