Chita customs: almost 19 thousand tourists passed through the Zabaikalsk IACP during the New Year holidays

18 805 tourists passed through the Russian-Chinese border at the  checkpoint MAPP Zabaikalsk in the region of Chita Customs during the New Year holidays. On average, customs officers cleared 60 buses and goods of more than 1,500 tourists per day

The peak days were the first four days of January. Tourists from Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Bratsk and other Siberian cities joined residents of the Transbaikal Territory during this period. During these days, up to 2,000 people in both directions and 80 buses crossed the border per day

Tourists often violate customs rules when traveling across the border. During the New Year holidays, the staff of the customs post Zabaikalsk IACP Zabaikalsk initiated 8 cases of administrative offenses. Almost all violations are related to non-declaration of goods. Citizens of Russia and China most often did not declare consumer goods – clothes and shoes
