Voronezh customs officers seized a car for non-payment of customs duties
Employees of the Voronezh Customs revealed evasion of customs payments in the amount of over 2.2 million rubles when importing a NISSAN FUGA car. A criminal case was initiated.
The car was imported for personal use with exemption from customs payments by a 42-year-old citizen of Abkhazia. The term of temporary importation was set until February 2023.
«In violation of the legislation, the car did not leave the Russian Federation within the established time limits. In addition, it was found that the vehicle under fictitious documents was transferred to the personal use of a Russian citizen» – said the head of the investigation department of Voronezh customs Olga Korotkova.
Employees of the Voronezh Customs seized the car and initiated criminal proceedings against the Abkhazian citizen under Part 1 Article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for punishment from a large fine to two years of imprisonment.
Reference: since the beginning of 2023 5 criminal cases have been initiated on the fact of illegal import of cars into the territory of Russia on the materials of Voronezh customs. The amount of evasion of customs payments amounted to over 21 million rubles.
