Tomsk customs: in 2019 filed 4 times more criminal cases against organized criminal groups

In 2019, the Tomsk customs initiated 25 criminal cases on signs of crimes committed by organized criminal groups. It is 4 times more compared to the 2018 year (6 criminal cases).

Criminal community, whose activities were stopped Tomsk customs in 2019, smuggling of forest and illegal withdrawal of capital abroad.

On the facts of smuggling of timber, made by organized group, the Tomsk customs initiated 18 criminal cases (part 3 of article 226.1 of the criminal code). So as part of a coordinated investigative activities with the Department of the FSB of Russia in the Tomsk region and Tomsk linear Department of the MIA of Russia revealed the criminal community, whose members false documents exported to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan sawn timber from Scots pine, Siberian spruce and cedar. In part of the measures to stop the illegal export abroad is already prepared for the export of lumber with a total volume of more than 500 cubic meters worth more than 2 000 000 rubles.

In addition, in 2019 the Tomsk customs initiated 7 criminal cases on the facts of withdrawal of capital abroad using false documents, committed by group of persons by prior conspiracy (part 2 of article 193.1 of the criminal code).

The scheme, which the fraudsters withdrew 28 687 568 rubles abroad through fictitious contracts for the supply of goods from Kyrgyzstan to the address the Tomsk firm, uncovered employees of the Tomsk customs and the Federal tax service of Russia for Tomsk region.

Background: a total of Tomsk customs office in 2019 instituted 37 criminal cases, in 2018 – 21 criminal case.

In 2019 cases were opened:

– under article 193 of the criminal code (evasion from execution of obligations on return to the territory of the Russian Federation funds) – 7 cases

– under article 193.1 of the criminal code (Commission of foreign exchange transactions using forged documents) – 7 cases

– article 226.1 (smuggling of timber) – 22 cases

– under article 229.1 (smuggling of precursor drugs) – 1 case.
