Novosibirsk customs officers speed up food clearance

From February 2024, the customs clearance and customs control division of the Novosibirsk Customs Service began operating in the territory of the bonded warehouse of one of the largest wholesale and distribution centers in the Novosibirsk Region.
The new division was established in February 2024
The new department was created for the convenience of suppliers of fruit and vegetables and other food products, as well as large wholesale retailers who buy fruit and vegetables here and distribute them to retail chains in the Novosibirsk region and other Siberian territories. The task of the customs officers is to complete the control of fresh consignments as quickly as possible
The large food hub in Novosibirsk began operations in 2022. The ORC is characterized by direct deliveries from producers, mainly from Central and Central Asian countries, and modern warehouse infrastructure: multi-temperature and freezing terminals, refrigerated pavilions for wholesale trade, packaging lines, and a phytosanitary control laboratory
“Customs support of such serious trade and logistics projects is a contribution to food security of the region, – said the first deputy head of STU Vyacheslav Seleznyov. – Placement of the customs department at this facility will reduce the time of customs operations in respect of food products, will ensure prompt delivery of these important goods to Siberian consumers
