In the course of verification measures, Rostov customs officers found that one of the firms registered in the Rostov region imported several batches of spare parts for gas boilers worth about 290 thousand US dollars from China in 2020-2022. When declaring, the company declared the cargo as “heat exchangers” suitable for the 0% customs duty rate. However, in the course of customs inspection after the release of the goods, Rostov customs officers found that the goods had been incorrectly classified. In fact, they were parts of household wall-mounted gas boilers with a customs duty rate of 10% of the value of the goods. The amount of evasion of customs duties amounted to more than 2.5 million rubles

The Rostov Customs initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation
