South Korean tugs, from the rescue of the expedition, issued Kamchatka customs

Two sea tugs with barges and floating crane arrived from South Korea, has issued the Kamchatka customs. A convoy of ships with special technological equipment and highly skilled team of rescuers and divers arrived for liquidation of consequences of the accident in the Bering sea.

As told the acting chief of the customs post Sea port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Kamchatka customs Alain Gureeva, Korean vessels arriving in the marine checkpoint Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, then go to the coast of Chukotka, where in 2011 was shipwrecked South Korean trawler “Oriental Angel” for carrying out rescue operations.

Because of what happened on Board the trawler fire crew left the ship. In the result of uncontrolled fishing vessel ran aground in the Bering sea near Cape of Military topographers (Anadyr district of Chukotka).

It is known that the “Oriental Angel” received severe damage to the bottoms over the entire length, which complicates its further transportation. In addition, the compartments (tanks) of the trawler remained a certain amount of petroleum products (fuel oil, diesel fuel, motor oil). This represents a real threat to environmental security for the coast in the event of leakage of petroleum products.

Rescue and underwater works for the disposal of petroleum products and the dismantling of a fishing trawler is planned to be completed within three months.
