Bryansk customs officers stopped the illegal import of cigarettes worth 9 million rubles

Bryansk customs officers together with officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Bryansk region and border guards stopped the illegal import of a large consignment of tobacco products without excise stamps and markings.

The mobile group of Bryansk customs in the control point “Krasny Kamen” stopped a van driven by a 38-year-old citizen of Russia. According to the documents, the driver was transporting glassware from Gomel to Bryansk, but when customs officers inspected the vehicle, they found illegal cigarettes behind dense rows of boxes with glass bottles

“More than 70,000 packs of cigarettes of Belarusian origin were seized from the driver, a resident of Smolensk region. According to a preliminary estimate, the value of illegally imported tobacco products is 9 million rubles,” said Sergei Sanakoev, head of Bryansk customs
