Smolensk Customs contributes to the protection of intellectual property rights, and this area is one of the priorities in its activities

In 2022-2023, the customs revealed 161.8 thousand units of goods containing intellectual property objects with signs of counterfeit. On the facts of illegal use of intellectual property objects 24 cases under article 14.10 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation were initiated, fines were imposed in the amount of 860 thousand rubles, 520 thousand rubles were recovered, as well as 5 cases of administrative offenses under article 7.12 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation, fines were imposed in the amount of 150 thousand rubles, 60 thousand rubles were recovered“, reported Natalia Samsonova, the head of the department of prohibitions, restrictions and commodity nomenclature of Smolensk customs.

The nomenclature of goods that were moved across the customs border of the EAEU, containing intellectual property objects and possessing signs of counterfeiting: children’s toys, clothing items, fishing accessories, plastic pipes, goods and spare parts for cars, packaging, etc.
