The unilateral adoption by the Republic of Lithuania of a decision to stop the movement of individuals and vehicles through the road checkpoints adjacent to the Belarusian checkpoints “Privalka” and “Kotlovka” from March 1, 2024, as well as artificial restraint of vehicles on the Belarusian-Lithuanian section of the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union has led to an increase in vehicle queues both on this and on the Russian-Latvian section of the customs border of the EAEU.

An increase in vehicle queues on this and on the Russian-Latvian section of the customs border of the EAEU

In order to avoid possible idle time and tension at checkpoints on the Belarusian-Lithuanian and Russian-Latvian sections of the EAEU border, participants of foreign economic activity transporting goods to the Kaliningrad region are recommended to reconsider logistical routes and take into account the possibility of moving goods using the ferry line Ust-Luga – Baltiysk, as well as the movement of goods by rail transport.

When using rail transport, it is recommended that foreign economic activity participants transporting goods to Kaliningrad region should consider the possibility of moving goods using the ferry line Ust-Luga – Baltiysk

When using rail transport to transport goods to the Kaliningrad region under the customs procedure of customs transit, it is necessary to declare the goods to the customs authority in whose region the sender is located
