Sochi Airport customs post of Krasnodar Customs hosted a training course for employees of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia on practical skills of passenger and baggage control
The proposal of the Abkhazian side to hold this event is associated with the planned test flights of aircrafts in August this year, as well as the opening of an international airport in Sukhum in 2025. The Abkhaz delegation was represented by the head of the Sukhum customs post of the Main Department of Customs Clearance and Customs Control Timur Amichba, as well as heads of departments and specialists of the department
In the course of the internship officials of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia together with the staff of the customs post Sochi Airport in accordance with the approved program discussed issues related to the organization of customs control and customs operations with respect to passengers, baggage and cargo transported by air transport. The Abkhazian side familiarized with the technological scheme of the post, the peculiarities of customs control in the summer period of peak loads, as well as with the functionality of a number of software tools
In the customs control zone, Russian customs officers demonstrated the arrival and departure sectors, the use of the “double corridor” system, modern technical means of control, X-ray equipment installed at the checkpoint, including in the baggage compartment, which allows passengers to quickly and discreetly identify the arrived cargo before its release. Interest was aroused by the information stands and information terminals placed at the checkpoint, where citizens can get information on customs legislation
At the end of the internship Abkhazian customs officers thanked the management of the customs post Sochi Airport for providing information on all issues of interest. In the future, employees of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia plan to study the experience of working with inspection complexes, as well as to undergo training on the basis of the Rostov branch of RTA with the use of distance learning technologies
