Rostov customs officers initiated criminal proceedings for smuggling of strategically important resources

Rostov Customs has opened a criminal case for smuggling of strategically important resources – oil products worth more than 1 million rubles.
don customs officers discovered 31.5 tons of fuel hidden from customs control on a motor ship from the port of Haifa (Israel), which arrived at the checkpoint of the River Port of Rostov-on-Don. In the course of customs control it was found that the actual amount of fuel significantly exceeds the amount specified in the documents. In some tanks the customs officers found special devices that made it difficult to measure the actual volume of fuel. According to the expert’s conclusion, the value of undeclared and concealed fuel amounted to more than 1 million rubles.
A criminal case under part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated on this fact. The materials have been transferred for investigation.
