Participants of foreign economic activity in the Smolensk and Tver regions saved 412.69 million rubles due to the zeroing of import customs duty rates from March 2022 to December 2023

The 0% import customs duty rates were set due to the need to support foreign trade participants in the conditions of sanctions pressure. In 2022, zero rates affected the largest number of commodity sub-items, including such important categories of goods as foodstuffs and components for their production, chemical products, medicines, components for the production and repair of vehicles

In 2023, work continued to protect Russian business. Import customs duty rates of 0% were retained for a number of commodity sub-items. This made it possible to reduce the costs of customs declaration of goods by companies registered in the Smolensk and Tver regions by a total of 80.24 million rubles

“Market participants working with goods of priority imports managed to significantly reduce costs and channel them into the development of their business. Organizations registered in the Tver region, thanks to the support of the state, reduced the cost of customs duties to the amount of 222.81 million rubles. Organizations registered in the Smolensk region were able to save 189.88 million rubles,” commented Natalia Zakharova, Head of the Customs Value Control and Customs Payments Department of the Smolensk Customs Office
