At the customs post of the Krasnodar Airport revealed the product with a source of ionizing radiation

At implementation of customs control of the international flight Krasnodar-Istanbul Krasnodar customs officers have revealed elevated levels of ionizing radiation baggage exceeding 1 µsv/h.

To minimise the risk situation by officials of Department of special customs procedures of the customs office carried out the customs inspection travel suitcase of a passenger.

As a result, found a measuring device made of glass and metal with luminous dial, structurally similar to an electric thermostat for measuring the temperature of the liquid, presumably referring to the category of military goods and maybe restricted and/or prohibited for transfer, including dual-purpose.

In accordance with the expert opinion of the Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human well-being state of health “Center of hygiene and epidemiology in Krasnodar region” it is established that the product is a source of ionizing radiation, is not subject to further use and must be disposed of in the prescribed manner.

– The obtained data of the customs control and the results of the expert reports served as a basis for registration of the customs post messages about crime, responsibility for which the Commission provided part 1 of article 247 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation (violation of rules for handling ecologically dangerous substances and a waste), noted the chief of branch of inquiry Igor Zabaznov. – Currently, the materials obtained by the investigation Department of the Krasnodar customs transferred to another investigative the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Krasnodar region for consideration of a question on excitation on the given fact criminal case.
