Chelyabinsk customs officers together with employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Chelyabinsk region now inspect hand Luggage and baggage of citizens arriving in Russia from South-East Asia, especially carefully. Inspectors check the presence of products of animal origin without the original packaging. Such measures adopted throughout the country and are associated with the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

“If earlier the Luggage of arriving passengers were subject to the customs control selectively, now we check 100% of Luggage and hand Luggage,” says Alexander Zernov, Deputy head of the customs office Airport Balandino.

In the case that is found inside the food products not in original packaging or in packaging but opened, the Rosselkhoznadzor will withdraw. In the presence of the owner of the products will be placed in a special container with the chemical composition, after which they become unfit for human consumption. Further products will be disposed of in accordance with established standards, and the owner of the Protocol on an administrative offense.

According to the legislation, for personal use in Russia can bring no more than 5 kg of food products per person. The execution of this provision is controlled by 2 agencies: the Federal customs service and Rosselkhoznadzor.
