Ural enterprises exported more than 9.5 thousand tons of food products worth $13.5 million in January-February 2024

The absolute leader is margarine. The volume of exports amounted to 3 thousand tons worth almost 5  million U.S. dollars. For the first time this year margarine entered the Turkish market. The Urals product is most popular in Tajikistan, 1200 tons worth almost 1 million 800 thousand U.S. dollars were shipped here. Compared to the same period last year, the growth in value terms amounted to 176%, in physical terms – 160%

The demand for pasta produced in the Urals is also high. In January-February 2024, more than 1.5 thousand tons worth more than one million US dollars were exported. The products are supplied to 14 countries, these are near and far abroad. Ural pasta is most loved in China. The residents of the Celestial Empire received 171 tons of products worth a total of 134 thousand U.S. dollars

Another popular product is mayonnaise. Since the beginning of the year, more than one thousand tons have been exported for a total value of almost 1 million 300 thousand U.S. dollars. To date, the sauce is eagerly bought by 11 countries: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia. Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan. For the first time this year the Urals mayonnaise was sold in Korea and Estonia

The confectionery products of regional producers are highly appreciated abroad. Since the beginning of the year, almost a thousand tons of cookies worth more than 1 million 200 thousand US dollars have been exported to 13 countries

Another 440 tons of biscuit rolls and cakes worth 760 thousand U.S. dollars and 47 tons of waffles worth 96 thousand U.S. dollars were shipped to 16 countries

The volume of supplies of Urals sweets is growing. Thus, in January-February, the region exported more than 290 tons of caramel worth almost 550 thousand US dollars (43% growth in value compared to the same period last year) and more than 120 tons of chocolate candies worth 240 thousand US dollars (375% growth in value terms)

I would like to note that in recent years the food industry in the Urals has been steadily showing growth. Regional producers are reaching new capacities and opening up promising markets. In all positions our food products are self-sufficient due to their competitive advantages, first of all quality,” emphasized Alexei Frolov, Head of the Urals Customs Directorate
