Rostov customs officers revealed the fact of evasion of customs payments in the amount of 3.5 million rubles

In the course of verification activities, Rostov Customs officers found that one of the firms engaged in foreign economic activity in the Rostov region, in 2022 imported from China a batch of monitors – about 8 000 pcs. When declaring the shipment, the company declared it as “Monitors used in computing systems”, suitable for the 0% customs duty rate. However, during the customs inspection after the release of the goods, Rostov customs officers found that the goods had been incorrectly classified. It should have been declared as goods subject to a customs duty of 5% of the value of the goods. The amount of evasion of customs payments amounted to more than 3.5 million rubles

The Rostov Customs Office initiated an administrative case under part 2 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Upon consideration of the case materials, the company was fined more than 1.76 million rubles.
