Smolensk customs officers have detained the resident of Smolensk with potent substance

Smolensk customs officers together with employees UFSB of Russia across the Smolensk region foiled another attempt of smuggling of potent substances. On signs of the crime under part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of potent substances), the Smolensk customs 9 Jun 2020 prosecuted.

This is the ninth criminal case brought by customs in this article this year. This time the inhabitant of the regional center customs officers seized 5 containers made of polymeric material with the text “…the Perfect slimming…” with 60 capsules, each 15 blisters of 12 capsules each with the same inscription.

– The examination revealed that the capsules were a substance which contains sibutramine. It is included in the list of drugs prohibited for import and circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation. The total mass of potent substances made up 134,40 R, – said acting Deputy head of the Smolensk customs Alexander Seals.

Currently investigating customs carry out urgent investigative actions, the completion of which the materials are transferred to law enforcement agencies to conduct a preliminary investigation.

The sanction of this article prescribes the maximum punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 7 years with a fine in the amount of 1 million rubles.

Alexander Kotikov noted that the List of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors subject to control in the Russian Federation, available in the public domain, including in the reference system “Garant”, and encouraged the citizens to use it when moving as medicine and different dietary Supplements.
