Smolensk customs officers found the suspicious fruit, berries and leeks

About 20 tons of pears, blackberries, red currant and leek was detained in the village of Kamenka of Kardymovsky district, Smolensk oblast during the night of 6 July 2020.

In the course of inspection by employees of Smolensk customs in a vehicle found products, country of origin is Poland and Belgium. Presumably, the product resulted in one of the Moscow wholesale and retail food centers. Shipping documents and information on the phytosanitary border control the driver is not provided.

It should be noted that the carrier was caught by customs officials is not the first time, this time was his anniversary – the fifth.

“The vehicle is arrested and placed in the Parking lot. At present, the Smolensk customs conducted verification measures, considers a question on excitation against the carrier of the case on administrative offense under article 16.3 of the administrative code of Russia (violation of the prohibitions and restrictions when importing goods in Russia). It is threatened by punishment in the form of a fine, the limit size of which is 300 thousand rubles,” – said acting chief of the customs control after release of goods of the Smolensk customs Marianne Rostopchina.
