Saratov customs office: number of seized illicit drugs increased in half
In 2019 employees of the Saratov customs, in cooperation with the departments of internal Affairs of Russia on transport initiated 6 criminal cases under part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code (smuggling of drugs). The results of the work were withdrawn from illegal circulation 505,766 grams of controlled substances, which is almost 1.5 times higher than 2018.
According to experts, the use of the seized drugs leads to mental disorders and diseases of internal organs, until the occurrence of cancer.
Currently, 5 criminal cases have already been convicted to deprivation of liberty for a term of 3 years conventionally, each of the defendants, and in one case adopted an additional penalty in the form of a fine in the amount of 100 thousand rubles.
