Saint-Petersburg customs informs that in accordance with Decision of the EEC Council of 29 April 2020, No. 47, “amending certain terms of the importation of goods for personal use” for individuals, the time location of cars and other vehicles in the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) extended until 30 September 2020.

The extension caused by the current situation related to the adoption of measures aimed at warning and preventing the spread of coronavirus infection and the impossibility for individuals to exercise their rights and perform duties in accordance with governing customs legal relations in the international treaties and acts constituting the right of the EEU.

– Citizens who temporarily imported cars and other vehicles, until September 30, 2020, exempt from the obligation of their backward exportation from the Union and, accordingly, will not fall under the administrative actions and payment of customs duties, – has explained the chief of Department of customs procedures of St. Petersburg customs Irina Pominova. – New requirements of the customs legislation apply to cases that arose or will arise from 1 March to 30 September this year.

Extension of temporary stay of cars and other vehicles on customs territory of the EAEU is carried out without the permission of the customs authority without the customs Declaration.

Saint-Petersburg customs notes that the extension of temporary stay of cars and other vehicles on customs territory of the EAEU does not exempt individuals from compliance with the requirements, conditions and restrictions imposed by the law of the EAEU, including in actual possession and use of vehicles by the declarant, as well as from the obligation to reverse their removal at the expiry of this period.
