Customs officials in the Samara region detained more than 33 thousand units of counterfeit sports clothes and shoes for 200 million rubles.

About 33 thousand units of counterfeit sports clothes and shoes trademark Adidas found the staff of the mobile group of the Samara customs in two trucks traveling from Kyrgyzstan to Russia.

The vehicle was stopped near the village of Bolshaya Chernigovka (Samara oblast). In the cargo hold, the customs officers found approximately 10.7 thousand pairs of sneakers and 22.4 thousand sports trousers, marked trademarks of the Adidas.

The representative of the copyright holder confirmed that the detained goods have signs of counterfeit products – they are missing the original protective labels and hanging labels, packaging design does not meet the design standards of the original products, products not manufactured by the rights holder. The sum of the caused damage amounted to about 204 million.

On the fact of illegal use of trademarks test events are held. Collected documents and information will be sent to the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia for decision-making on excitation of criminal cases under part 1 of article 180 of the criminal code.
