Crimean Customs: unlabeled tobacco products worth more than 1.5 million rubles were seized from illegal circulation
Since the beginning of the year in the domestic market Crimean customs revealed 11, 3 thousand packs of cigarettes, which lacked excise stamps and mandatory labeling of tobacco products provided by the current legislation. Of these, more than 800 packs – cigarettes of foreign production, 10,5 thousand packs – cigarettes produced by EAEU member states, as well as 13,5 kilograms of foreign tobacco for hookah. The market value of the seized unlabeled products amounted to more than 1.5 million rubles.
The tobacco products were discovered during customs inspections of the premises and territories of retail outlets of individual entrepreneurs engaged in retail and wholesale trade in tobacco products in the Republic of Crimea.
All illegally imported tobacco products were withdrawn from trade turnover. 6 cases on administrative offenses were initiated against individual entrepreneurs.
Crimean Customs draws the attention of citizens, individual entrepreneurs, that the mandatory labeling of tobacco products in the territory of the Russian Federation is introduced from July 2020. From 01.12.2023 in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation from 30.11.2022 № 2178 «On amendments to some acts of the Government of the Russian Federation in terms of introducing mandatory labeling of certain types of nicotine-containing liquids with means of identification» prohibits retail circulation of unlabeled nicotine-containing products. For the absence of mandatory labeling provides for administrative responsibility under Part 4 of Article 15.12. of the CAO RF and criminal liability under Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
