Bryansk customs officers revealed 20 tons of pears transported under the guise of sauerkraut and glaze

Officers of Bryansk customs detained a truckload of pears. 20 tons of fruit were moved with concealment, without phytosanitary certificates and other documents

A mobile customs team in Novozybkovsky district of Bryansk region stopped a truck traveling from  the Republic of Belarus. The driver explained that he was transporting sauerkraut and confectionery glaze in buckets, but when customs officers inspected the vehicle, they found boxes of pears.

“The driver was unable to provide phytosanitary certificates and other documents confirming the legality of importation of goods and guaranteeing the safety and quality of products for consumers,” explained Pavel Kharitonov, acting deputy head of Bryansk customs. -the vehicle with the cargo has been detained.
