A large shipment of illegal cigarettes was detected by customs officers in Tula

Officers of the Tula Customs revealed more than 6,700 packs of cigarettes without mandatory labeling and excise stamps. The event to check the legality of trade in tobacco products was carried out jointly with the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Tula region
In the course of the raid, unlabeled imported cigarettes of more than ten varieties were found in one of the retail outlets in Tula. The lack of means of identification indicates that the goods were illegally imported into the country
Police officers withdrew the products from circulation. The question of bringing the owner of the point of sale to statutory responsibility is being decided.
An investigation is underway
A total of 11,300 packs of cigarettes were seized from the illegal trade turnover in 2023 as a result of the inspection measures.
