In the Samara customs talked about cooperation in identifying mobile groups fissile radioactive materials
On the basis of the Samara customs office has hosted a working meeting (meeting) of the officials of the Samara customs with representatives of Federal Executive authorities, in particular the STSI GU MVD, the emergencies Ministry, Rospotrebnadzor, Ministry of health of the Samara region, and also the enterprises of the state Corporation “Rosatom” in the framework of preparation for holding in the period from 22 to 24 April 2020 on the basis of the Samara customs command and staff exercises of the forces and means of control at the state border of the Russian Federation on suppression of illegal import to the territory of the Russian Federation of radioactive substances, articles thereof, of nuclear materials and radioactive waste.
During the meeting they discussed issues:
– approval of the working group on interagency cooperation, including officials of the Samara customs office and experts of the concerned Federal bodies of Executive power, enterprises of the state Corporation “Rosatom” in the region of the Samara customs;
– organization of interaction of the interested agencies upon detection of emergency situations of radiation nature (further – emergency situations) – identification of goods containing naturally occurring radionuclides with high radiation background;
– management of forces and means intended for prevention and liquidation of emergency situations on the territory of the Samara region.
– on the role and remit of the working group members in identifying trafficking, and the suppression of illegal movement across the state border of the Russian Federation of nuclear materials and radioactive substances.
The main result of the meeting was to develop strategies to address issues of interactions that occur between the Federal Executive bodies authorized on implementation of measures for ensuring radiation safety of life and health of citizens, the detection and elimination of consequences of emergency situations of smuggling and trafficking on the territory of the Russian Federation beyond the control of sources of ionizing radiation.
