About 117 kg of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors and potent substances revealed the customs authorities for the first quarter of 2020.
More than 400 attempts of illegal movement of such substances across the border were prevented in the course of customs control of persons, vehicles and goods crossing the state border of Russia, and as a result quickly-investigation actions, including in cooperation with Russian and foreign law enforcement agencies.
On the elicited facts of drug smuggling, the customs authorities filed 172 criminal cases, including 66 cases under article 229.1 of the criminal code and 106 cases under article 226.1 of the criminal code.
Also on the facts of legalization (laundering) of funds obtained by criminal means (article 174.1 of the criminal code) and linked with the illegal movement of drugs, 2 criminal cases are raised, one of which is against an organized group. The amount of money in these cases exceeded 9.3 million RUB.

25 February 2020, according to the results of operational search activities of the southern operational customs enforcement (WAT) revealed that the shipment to Russia from Kazakhstan sibutramine with a total mass of more than 3.4 kilograms, the Recipient of the parcel is detained and has given grateful evidences. In this incident GOT a criminal case part 1 of article 226.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE.
February 17, 2020 in the course of joint activities SPONGE and the Siberian operative customs (SOT) has revealed the fact of shipment from Belgium to Russia of cocaine with a total weight of about 2 kg, concealed in packages of coffee. The recipient of the parcel is detained and has given grateful evidences. On this fact SOT the criminal case “b” part 4 St. 229.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE.
On the same day, February 17, 2020 in the course of joint activities SPONGE and Moscow customs revealed that the shipment in the mail from Belgium to Russia drug MDMA with a total weight of 900 g. the Recipient of the parcel has been detained and has given grateful evidences. On the given fact the Moscow customs office opened a criminal case “b” part 4 St. 229.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE.
February 14, 2020 according to the results of operational search activities, Dagestan customs elicited the fact of illegal import to Russia from Kyrgyzstan sibutramine a total mass of about 5 kg using channel delivery of international Express shipments. Recipient of the shipment has been detained and has given grateful evidences. In this incident GOT a criminal case under part 1 of article 226.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE.
7 February 2020, according to the results of operational search activities of the Moscow customs office has revealed the fact of shipment to Russia from Kazakhstan potent substance sibutramine, a total mass of 1.1 kg. the recipient of the shipment is detained and has given grateful evidences. On the given fact the Moscow customs office opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 226.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE.
