Tula customs officers opened 17 criminal cases in 2023

In 2023, Tula Customs officers registered 22 crime reports. As a result of their examination, 17 criminal cases were initiated, while the remaining materials were transferred to other law enforcement agencies for investigation.

The following crimes have been detected:

– evasion of customs payments (2 criminal cases under article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);

– smuggling (5 cases under article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)

– smuggling (5 criminal cases under article 226.1 of the Criminal Code);

– commission of currency transactions involving the transfer of funds to non-resident accounts using false documents (2 criminal cases under article 193.1 of the Criminal Code);

– illegal formation of a legal entity (5 criminal cases under article 226.1 of the Criminal Code)

– unlawful formation of a legal entity (7 criminal cases under article 173.1 of the Criminal Code);

– unlawful use of legal documents for the purpose of transferring money to non-resident accounts (2 criminal cases under article 193.1 of the Criminal Code)

– illegal use of documents for the formation of a legal entity (1 criminal case under article 173.2 of the Criminal Code);

– illegal use of documents for the formation of a legal entity (1 criminal case under article 173.2 of the Criminal Code)

The objects of crime in criminal cases were strategically important resources – timber and ethyl alcohol, means of transportation and potent substances.

At the same time, the criminal cases involved the illegal use of documents to form a legal entity (1 criminal case under Article 173.2 of the Criminal Code)

In 2023, Tula customs officers also initiated 1,256 cases of administrative offenses (in 2022 – 855 cases of administrative offenses).

The cases on administrative offenses were initiated on the facts of violation of submission to the customs authority of statistical forms of registration of the movement of goods, non-declaration and false declaration, violations of currency legislation, non-compliance with the order of customs transit, etc.
