Customs officers detained a Muscovite who ordered 300 kilograms of precursor for synthesizing “salts” via the darknet

It was established that a 47-year-old Muscovite ordered a batch of 300 kilograms of illegal substance via darknet. The shipment was controlled by customs officers

The truck with the shipment arrived at a warehouse in Moscow, after which the goods were delivered to the recipient in a private sector in the north-west of the capital. The man was caught red-handed while receiving the shipment

A total of 24 barrels with the illegal substance in the form of white powder, as well as equipment and flasks for drug synthesis were seized

Experts determined that the substance from the barrels was 1-dimethylamino-2-chloropropane, which is used by drug labs to synthesize so-called “salts.”

The organizer of the criminal scheme has been taken into custody. He was charged under Part 4 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for smuggling precursors for the production of narcotic drugs on a particularly large scale. The maximum penalty under this article is life imprisonment
