Kaluga customs officers seized tobacco products worth more than 1 million rubles

The customs officers found more than 6.5 thousand packs of tobacco products of Russian and foreign production without mandatory Data Matrix code marking and without special excise stamps of the Russian Federation. The value of the seized illegal products is more than 1 million rubles

Kaluga Customs actively cooperates with other law enforcement agencies to suppress illegal operations with tobacco products,” said Dmitry Krivko, head of Kaluga Customs.

A criminal case under part 5 of article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sale of goods without labeling on a particularly large scale) is being considered against the entrepreneur. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to 3 years with a fine of up to 120 thousand rubles
