Kursk customs officers uncovered more than 10,000 packs of illegal cigarettes

Officers of Kursk customs together with the police found more than 10 thousand packs of tobacco products without mandatory labeling and with signs of counterfeiting

In three specialized retail outlets in Kursk revealed 10,079 packs of cigarettes, 229 electronic nicotine delivery systems, 212 packs of tobacco for hookah and 195 packages of nicotine-containing liquid. All packs lacked excise stamps of the Russian Federation and marking with special Russian identification marks

The prohibited unlabeled tobacco products were seized by police officers for examination. Based on the results of the examination, depending on the value of the goods, decisions will be made on initiating administrative or criminal proceedings.

We draw the attention of Kursk residents to the fact that counterfeit cigarettes are dangerous for humans. –  reported the deputy head of customs Maxim Tikhomirov.  – The manufacturer of tobacco products and the quality of raw materials from which they are made. There is also no information about compliance with technical regulations in the production of cigarettes.”
