A representative of Vladimir Customs took part in a discussion of methods to counteract the illegal circulation of tobacco products

On December 26, Olga Bolshakova, deputy head of Vladimir Customs – head of the service of customs control after release of goods, took part in the conference “Illegal circulation of tobacco products: Republic of Tatarstan, Yaroslavl region, Ivanovo region, Vologda region”. The participants discussed economic, legal and social aspects of illegal tobacco trafficking and the results of the work of the agencies.

“In 2023 on the territory of the Yaroslavl region we conducted 16 customs inspections of premises and territories and identified more than 22 thousand packs of cigarettes with violations of the law, without mandatory labeling or with signs of counterfeiting,” – said Olga Bolshakova. – In Ivanovo region as a result of 12 inspection measures also revealed more than 22 thousand packs of tobacco products of unknown origin. Documents and information about the crossing of the border of the Russian Federation by the goods were missing, so the inspection materials and goods were transferred to the territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia”.

The event was attended by representatives of the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies “Honest Mark”, Rospotrebnadzor, tobacco manufacturers, and public organizations. The experts noted the importance of interdepartmental cooperation between government agencies in implementing plans to combat illicit tobacco trafficking, and outlined further ways of cooperation
