Mobile groups of Smolensk customs detected 992 consignments of goods moved in violation of the current legislation in 2023

In 2023, the mobile groups of Smolensk customs revealed 992 consignments of goods moved with various kinds of violations, totaling 11.5 thousand tons. Based on the results of their control in cooperation with other controlling bodies, 44 criminal cases and 406 cases on administrative offenses were initiated.

“It is necessary to note the work aimed at controlling the movement of tobacco products. In 2023, 13.3 million packs of illegal cigarettes were detected with a total value of more than 1.5 billion rubles. 30 criminal cases under Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation were initiated”, – emphasized the head of Smolensk customs Rustam Yakubov

In addition, in cooperation with law enforcement units of the customs, 13 criminal cases under Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the facts of smuggling of strategically important resources and one case under Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the facts of smugglingofnarcotic drugs were initiated

According to the results of joint measures with other controlling bodies within the framework of interagency cooperation in the domestic market, violations of the law were revealed in the storage and sale of cigarettes, clothing, bed linen and perfumes not marked with mandatory means of identification. The total number of products amounted to 30.4 thousand units.
