Approximately 4 thousand unmarked tobacco products and over 1.5 thousand dietary supplements were discovered by Far Eastern customs officers in 8 months of 2024.

Nearly 3,800 packs of tobacco products and 1,558 packages of dietary supplements without mandatory labeling were discovered by customs officers in the retail network in the Far East region over the course of 8 months in 2024. These products were identified by customs units in the Far Eastern region after the release of goods, while carrying out their duties of customs control in the domestic market of the Russian Federation. The goods were found to be either lacking mandatory labeling or showing signs of illegal movement across the customs border.

During the inspection activities, customs officers also identified unlabeled products, including 4,763 packs of perfume and toilet water, 23,580 electronic cigarettes and liquids for them, as well as 6,320 counterfeit goods (clothing, footwear, perfume), and 72 children’s toys. In addition, more than 2,000 units of electronic equipment (smartphones, headphones, drills, vacuum cleaners, etc.) with signs of illegal import into the country were discovered, as well as 615 electric garlands.

According to Deputy Chief of the Post-Release Goods Control Service of the Far Eastern Customs Administration, Lyubov Khlustova, mandatory labeling not only ensures transparency in the process of delivering goods, but also controls their quality and, most importantly, ensures safety for the population.

As a result of inspections during the circulation of goods over 8 months in 2024, the Far Eastern customs authorities collected more than 13 million rubles, recovered more than 7 million rubles, and initiated 17 cases of administrative offenses.
