A pandemic has become an obstacle to a training seminar in Tatarstan customs

Tatarstan customs officers took part in the seminar on the protection of intellectual property rights with the participation of representatives of rights holders. In the context of the ongoing pandemic coronavirus infection COVID-19 event took place in the on-line platform zoom.

In the course of the workshop focused on distinctive signs of counterfeit goods, marked trademarks of Hugo Boss, Chloe, Davidoff, GlaxoSmithKline, Diadora, MCM, Coach, Stuart Weitzman, Longchamp, possible places of their realization and detection of goods with signs of counterfeit by international mail.

– The protection of intellectual property rights is very relevant to us in connection with the operation in the region of activity of customs of the Kazan postal logistics center – said the head of Department of the commodity nomenclature, the origin of goods and trade restrictions of Tatarstan customs Aidar Salakhov. – A significant proportion of the counterfeit products detected in the movement of goods in international mail.

In Tatarstan customs understand that the effective solution of tasks on suppression of trafficking in counterfeit goods is impossible without close cooperation with representatives of owners. Training seminars – trainings on the issues of intellectual property rights protection – the effective and very effective tool in the fight against counterfeiting. And this tool at the customs office used very successfully invite to dialogue representatives of owners of trademarks included in the Customs registry of intellectual property of Federal customs service of Russia. The information obtained in the course of such training, successfully used in practice. This is eloquently evidenced by the numbers. Last year, as a result of the customs control concerning the goods sent in 1 120 international mail identified 13 120 units identified by rights holders as counterfeit. From the beginning of 2020 already identified 15 295 units of counterfeit goods were in the 1 067 IGO.
