A maritime vessel arrived at the Olya border crossing point to perform customs operations. One 40-foot container, which arrived to the address of a Russian entrepreneur, contained more than 1,200 foreign used car parts, with a total weight of more than 15.6 tons. The goods from the UAE were placed in temporary storage in the port of Olja. The representative of the entrepreneur submitted a transit declaration for its further shipment to Krasnodar

In the course of customs inspection officials of the customs post of the Sea Port Olya of the Astrakhan Customs revealed a discrepancy in the actual weight of the declared goods. The excess weight amounted to more than 4 tons. Among bodywork, running gear, engine parts in the container customs officers found about 170 undeclared goods (car tires, radiators, dashboards, car stereos and other used goods). That is, the representative of the consignee had sent to the customs authority false information about the weight, quantity and name of the goods when submitting the transit declaration

A case on administrative offense was initiated against the representative of the recipient under part 3 of article 16.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (communication to the customs authority of false information about the number of cargo places when placing goods under the customs procedure of customs transit)

“To date, the owner of the goods on the basis of the inspection, declared the entire lot of goods, paid duties and taxes, i.e. formalized the goods for free movement through the territory of the Russian Federation and further use,” explains Oleg Lychagin, head of the customs post of the Sea Port Olya of Astrakhan customs.
