A businessman has paid a court-ordered fine of more than 970 thousand rubles for illegally importing agricultural machinery equipment into Russia.

A mobile group of Astrakhan customs found a batch of foreign equipment in a truck without documents on a highway in the Volgograd region

“Fodder spraying machine” and “mesh belt dryer”, intended for use in agriculture for the production of ready-made animal feed, were transported in disassembled form. The driver did not submit documents confirming the customs clearance of the transported goods on the territory of the EAEU. It was established that the goods were imported into Russia without paying customs duties

According to the offender, he made payment by electronic transfer abroad through a Russian representative. He did not take measures to find out whether they had been cleared through customs, whether customs payments had been paid for them and whether they could be in free circulation. According to the expert examination, the market value of the goods amounted to about 4 million rubles

The equipment was seized. Astrakhan Customs initiated a case on administrative offense under Article 16.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (transportation of goods illegally moved across the customs border).
