Samara customs officers prevented an attempt of smuggling a large consignment of tobacco without excise stamps

One ton of hookah tobacco without excise stamps found Samara customs officers in a truck EN route from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation.

Mobile group of the Samara customs in the area p. the Cold Keys (Orenburg region) was stopped by the wagon to check the imported goods.

According to the driver in the wagon were only dried fruits and nuts. During the customs inspection by customs officials it was established that in the cargo compartment of a vehicle, under bags with dried fruit and nuts is a few cardboard boxes with the goods “tobacco for hookah” production of Turkey. Discovered tobacco in the amount of 20 000 units were without excise stamps. The total weight was 1 ton, and the cost, according to the expert, almost 2 million rubles.

In accordance with article 4 of the Federal law of 22.12.2008 № 268-FZ and in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 20.02.2010 № 76 import to the territory of the Russian Federation of tobacco products without marking with excise stamps is prohibited.

According to the results of customs inspection of the Samara customs in respect of the carrier initiated a case on administrative offense provided for by article 16.3 of the administrative code, upon failure to comply with the prohibitions and restrictions on the importation of goods into the Russian Federation.
