Tatarstan customs officials have exposed a bribe-taker within their own ranks

According to the materials of the anti-corruption department of the Tatarstan Customs, the investigation department for the Kirovsky district of Kazan of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against a former official of the Tatarstan Customs.  

Customs operatives found that while performing his official duties, the 28-year-old young man received a bribe in the amount of 20,000 rubles for assistance in customs clearance of a car purchased in the Republic of Armenia

The young man’s service experience in the customs authorities amounted to just over three years. he was dismissed in August 2023
