Representatives of the FCS of Russia took part in an online meeting of experts of customs services of the BRICS countries

From 4 to 6 August 2020 under the chairmanship of Russia in BRICS FCS of Russia held a meeting of experts of customs services of the countries of “five” in format of video conference.

The event brought together more than 30 members of relevant departments of customs services of the BRICS countries. During the meeting the experts discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of risk management, mutual recognition of authorized economic operators, combating customs offences, international e-Commerce, and intelligent image processing inspection systems (IDK).

The participants analyzed and identified the forms of implementation of the five-sided projects, including through the conclusion of memoranda of understanding and implementation Road maps. In addition, timelines for the implementation of such initiatives and their practical contribution to the development of the economies of the BRICS countries.

Continued work on the harmonization of the draft intergovernmental agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters of the BRICS. Countries have agreed on more than half of the provisions of the draft instrument, and also took the decision to use video as a platform for regular discussions.
