For a week, customs cynologists from Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Smolensk customs authorities competed for the title of the best in the Central Customs Directorate

The competition program included five stages: search for illegal substances and cash in trucks and cars, in luggage, indoors, as well as obedience. For dogs trained to search for narcotic substances, imitation narcotic substances were used as bookmarks, and for pets trained to search for cash, real shredded bills were used

The obedience discipline includes a whole range of elements: from laying a service dog combined with stamina, to determining the dog’s reaction to a gunshot and behavior when moving through a group of people, as well as overcoming a barrier and passing through a boom. All participants successfully passed the tests prepared for them.

This year the competition is held for the 15th time, and it is already possible to make a comparison. The growth of professional training of cynologists and their charges has a positive dynamics. You can see that the masters of their craft are working,” – said the head of the canine training department of the service of organization of canine activity of the Central Operative Customs Service Sergey Rudenko

The absolute winners in the individual competition were canine specialists of Belgorod and Smolensk customs. Alexander Pshenichny with his Belgian shepherd dog Keaira and Alexandra Boyko with English spaniel Mars scored the most points in both disciplines – search work and obedience. Silver took representatives of Kursk and Bryansk customs – Andrey Chekh with his German shepherd dog Lutaya and Igor Busyev with Belgian shepherd dog Magnat. Bronze – Natalia Krysantieva with her Labrador Zeus from Voronezh Customs and Andrey Sivakov with his Kurtshaar Chris from Bryansk Customs

In the team standings, the winner of the competition was the Bryansk Customs team, while the second place went to the canine specialists from Belgorod and the third place to the Kursk cynologists
