Vladimir Customs opened a criminal case on the fact of timber smuggling, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. The persons registered in Ivanovo region illegally exported about 50 cubic meters of hardwood lumber to Egypt.

“In the course of operative-search measures it was established that the goods worth about 450 thousand rubles were moved within the framework of a foreign trade contract concluded with Egyptian counterparties,” said Igor Gubanin, deputy head of Vladimir customs. – The customs declarations deliberately declared false information about the origin and purchase of the exported lumber”.

As a result, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of crimes under p. “c” part 2 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of strategically important resources committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). The crime was revealed in cooperation with the Federal Security Service of Russia in Ivanovo Region and the Ivanovo Transport Prosecutor’s Office
